One of Seattle's most unexpected pieces of history. You're walking through Fremont, and suddenly you're standing beside a real section of the Berlin Wall. Two authentic sections of the Berlin Wall are on display in Fremont. The larger piece stands outside the History House of Greater Seattle, while a second fragment can be found nearby at the Center of the Universe sign. Originally built to divide East and West Berlin from 1961 to 1989, these pieces now serve as reminders of the Cold War and the fall of the wall that reunited a city.
