Absolutely worth the detour. What began in 1978 as two artists decorating their home has grown into one of Washington's most beloved examples of outsider art. Created by Dick Elliott and Jane Orleman, this ever-evolving private residence features mosaics, sculptures, found objects, bottle caps, and thousands of Dick Elliott's signature highway reflectors. More than 40 Northwest artists have contributed to the property over the years, transforming it into a joyful community art environment. Visitors are welcome to admire the artwork from the sidewalk, read the information kiosk, and sign the guest book—but please remember this is still a private home. If you visit after dark, the reflectors come alive in your headlights, creating an entirely different experience.
