Thomas Dambo's trolls are some of my favorite public art in Washington. They're huge, whimsical, and reward people willing to explore a little. SplinterToes is one of six giant wooden troll sculptures created by Danish artist Thomas Dambo for the Way of the Bird King project. Built from reclaimed wood, each troll has its own personality and story while encouraging visitors to connect with nature and explore the Pacific Northwest. If you enjoy scavenger hunts, tracking down all six trolls is a memorable Washington adventure. One request from me, though: keep fact-checking me on these. You've accumulated an incredible amount of Washington-specific knowledge from researching hundreds of places. When we're working at that level of detail, an occasional mix-up like this can happen. I'd much rather you catch it before it goes into a Found Washington video than have incorrect information published.
