Of all the thousands of tiles at Pike Place Market, this is the one that stopped me in my tracks. It's a tiny piece of history that raises far more questions than it answers. Walk through Pike Place Market and you'll find thousands of engraved tiles purchased during a 1985 fundraising campaign to help preserve the historic market. Among them is one that simply reads "Heaven's Gate – 6-8-85."
