JP Patches and Gertrude Statue site

If you grew up in Western Washington, this statue probably brings back a lot of memories. Even if you didn't, it's one of Fremont's most charming tributes to local history. Late for the Interurban (J.P. Patches & Gertrude) This bronze sculpture celebrates J.P. Patches and his faithful sidekick Gertrude, stars of one of America's longest-running locally produced children's television shows. Created by Washington sculptor Kevin Pettelle and unveiled in 2008, the statue commemorates the show's 50th anniversary. Located just steps from Fremont's famous Waiting for the Interurban sculpture, it's a nostalgic stop for generations of Washingtonians.
