This si considered public access, but there are residence on the boats. Built in 1917, the La Merced was a four-masted schooner that hauled petroleum along the West Coast before serving as a floating cannery in Alaska. In 1966, the ship was intentionally beached and repurposed as a breakwater, where its weathered hull has since become overgrown with trees and vegetation. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it's one of Washington's most unusual maritime landmarks.
