This is the best little train ride you can take in the Mountains. Take a free ride on this 7½-inch-gauge miniature live-steam railroad at Depot Park in Skykomish. The approximately 10-minute ride is operated by volunteers, with donations encouraged. The historic Great Northern Railway depot is right beside the train and now houses a museum about Skykomish’s railroad history. A fun and unexpected stop in the mountains.
