It's easy to drive right past this landmark, but once you know its story, you'll never look at it the same way. This little wooden tower is one of the last reminders of Oak Harbor's farming roots. The door is sometimes open and you can step inside to see some historical objects. Built in 1910, Neil Tower once held a 1,300-gallon water tank that supplied the nearby James Neil dairy farm. Standing about 50 feet tall beside the historic Roller Barn, it's one of Oak Harbor's oldest surviving structures and was the city's first property selected for its historic register. Although the surrounding farmland has disappeared, the tower remains a rare reminder of the area's agricultural past
