Sentinel and Archimedean Solids Sculpture

I love when public art tells a bigger story. Sentinel isn't meant to stand alone—it was designed as part of a pair. Created by artist T. Ellen Sollod in 2009, Sentinel is a striking steel sculpture at Bay and Holly in downtown Bellingham. It was installed alongside Archimedean Solids, a companion artwork inspired by the geometric forms first described by the ancient mathematician Archimedes. Together, the two sculptures transform this small plaza into an open-air gallery celebrating both art and mathematics.
