The Blue Door Theatre Milk Bottle

If you love novelty architecture this is a great stop.The downtown counterpart to Spokane’s Garland District milk bottle. Both were constructed in 1935 as attention-grabbing retail stores for the Benewah Creamery Company, although plans reportedly called for as many as six. After housing several different businesses and sitting vacant for stretches of time, the historic South Cedar Street bottle became the home of Blue Door Theatre in 2024. It now welcomes visitors for improv performances, classes and special events. Check the theater’s schedule before visiting if you would like to see the inside. Its sister bottle on Garland Avenue is now Mary Lou’s Milk Bottle diner.
