This is a fun additional piece to enrich the story of the Troll under the bridge. Just a short walk from Seattle's famous Fremont Troll, you'll find three small bronze goats crossing Troll Avenue. These sculptures pay tribute to the classic Norwegian folktale "The Three Billy Goats Gruff," the story of three clever goats who must cross a bridge guarded by a hungry troll. Their placement isn't random. The Fremont Troll, installed in 1990 beneath the Aurora Bridge, was inspired by that same Scandinavian story. Together, the goats and the troll create a playful public art experience that celebrates Fremont's Nordic roots and its reputation for quirky, imaginative art. The neighborhood's strong Scandinavian heritage made the fairy tale a fitting inspiration for one of Seattle's most iconic sculptures.
